Abijah

Uh-bi´juh; Heb., “Yah[weh] is my father”

Also Abijam. 1 The son of Becher, grandson of Benjamin (1Chr 7:8). 2 The son of Samuel, who served as judge in Beer-sheba (1Sam 8:2). 3 The son of Rehoboam, king of Judah (911–908 BCE), during whose reign the border wars between Judah and Israel continued unabated (1Kgs 15:7). 4 The son of Jeroboam, son of Nebat, who failed to recover from a childhood illness; his death was interpreted as a sign of divine displeasure (1Kgs 14).
